Our modern composting plant at the Zweckverband für Abfallwirtschaft Kempten – ZAK for short – processes biowaste. Since it was commissioned in 2016, around 5,500 tonnes of green waste has been turned into top-quality compost every year. The result is excellent "Allgäu compost", which has been awarded the RAL seal of quality and can be purchased from recycling centers.
