Windrow coverage – technically up to date & easy to handle.

Regional Recycling Directly at the Site
The new GS-Gewerbe composting facility in Aschau am Inn was successfully commissioned at the end of June 2026. The facility is designed to process green waste generated in the region and provides a compact, clearly structured solution for this purpose. In future, up to 1,500 tonnes of material per year can be treated directly at the site and converted into a usable resource.
This creates a short and efficient recycling route: the delivered green waste is not simply disposed of, but is systematically processed and returned to the biological cycle. The facility supports the operator in reliably treating organic material streams while maintaining consistent compost quality.
Controlled Composting in Two Windrows
The facility consists of two composting windrows operated with the UTV system. The semi-permeable membrane of the GORE® Cover creates stable conditions within the windrows while protecting the composting process from external weather influences. Targeted aeration supplies the microorganisms with the oxygen they require and allows the temperature development to be controlled.
The composition, moisture content and structure of green waste can vary considerably depending on the season. The system makes it possible to respond specifically to these differences and maintain a reliable composting process even when the material properties change. At the same time, odours and emissions are reduced, allowing the facility to be integrated effectively into its operational surroundings.
High-Quality Compost from Green Waste
At the end of the process, stable, high-quality compost is produced, which can be reused as a soil improver. Valuable organic components are preserved and made available for further use instead of being lost as residual material.
With the new facility, GS-Gewerbe now has a purpose-built solution for the sustainable treatment of regional green waste. The project demonstrates how efficient material cycles can be established even with a comparatively compact facility. This is achieved through clearly defined processes, controlled composting and a usable end product.
