Control of the composting system

The decomposition processes in the windrow are optimally regulated by a controlled ventilation system. The corresponding temperature and oxygen data are recorded inside the windrow by the system's high-quality measuring probes. The probes are made of stainless-steel (IP 65 housing), extremely robust and biochemically resistant.

High-quality cables establish the connection to the computer-controlled networking unit. There, modern software uses the data to decide and control how much oxygen needs to be added via the aeration system. The data obtained is also stored without the need to connect to a PC.

Process Control with Pressure Sensor

New possibilities thanks to the pressure sensor:

Pressure monitoring enables the aeration to be monitored remotely.

The pressure probes detect the following errors:

  • Low water level in the gully

  • Loose pipe or hose connections

  • Defective ventilator (motor, impeller or wrong turning direction caused by switched phases )
  • Leaking ventilation channel

  • Edge sealing of the GORE® Cover

The daily inspection rounds are no longer necessary thanks to process monitoring by iCompost in conjunction with a pressure sensor. This saves working time and ensures process reliability.

Pressure sensors can be easily retrofitted into existing systems, even with old composting masters.

MPT50 Pressure sensor

Features:

  • 50 hPa (mbar), gauge pressure .4…20 mA output signal

  • Can be changed on site

  • Robust stainless-steel housing
  • EMC according to EN 61326-1

  • Housing: stainless-steel 1.4404 (316L), protection class IP 67 (according to DIN EN 60529, NEMA 6)

Safely monitor and control processes

The PC software “Kompmaster”

Natural processes during waste decomposition can be accelerated by keeping the temperature, humidity and oxygen supply to the windrow constant. Suitable for this purpose is a computer control with corresponding software.

UTV software exploits this principle for the climate optimization of the climate chamber under the semi-permeable membrane. An automatically controlled addition of oxygen through the ventilation system, regulated according to the consumption of the micro-organisms in the windrow.

The UTV Software "Kompmaster" serves also as proof for the hygienic efficiency of the decomposition process via temperature measurement and recording. The following properties distinguish the software from others:

  • Constant oxygen control

  • Record of the temperature

  • Determination of the 55-degree mark

  • Steady controlling of hygienization
  • Assessment of the decomposition process

  • Extensive documents in form of tables and charts

  • Ability to be applied internationally by shifting from Celsius to Fahrenheit

The version “NET-Kompmaster” controls the compost plant with WLAN network, the “Tele-Kompmaster” with modem connection.

icompmaster Version 6.03

The “icompmaster” control unit is used to control the composting process and to log the temperature values, oxygen content and pressure. The control unit is designed for both stand-alone and networked operations.

Fundamental improvements:

  • Communication is 9 times faster
  • Galvanic isolated RS485 interface
  • 3 sensor input, possibility to connect a pressure sensor

  • compatible with all old versions of the Kompmaster

Now a new version of the icompost control system is available with improved performance, extensive detail improvements and many enhancements in the following areas:

  • User interface

  • Network communication and access from mobile devices

  • Data backup and fault diagnosis
  • Work planning and windrow management

  • Monitoring, reports and alarm system

This is unique to UTV – check it and test it first before you buy it!

Our composting systems, which have proven themselves in stationary use for many years, are also available as a reliable, completely mobile test system. Everything fits on a trailer in the smallest version, including aeration system, pipes, tarpaulin and control system (WLAN).

You can run a test – for example with your different raw materials – and see from the results whether the compost produced using UTV technology meets your requirements.
