Windrow coverage – technically up to date & easy to handle.
In 2009, the biogas plant of Franke Transport & Biogas in Borchen made the decision to no longer spread the fermentation residues directly as fertilizer, as had previously been the case. Instead, the company opted to process the fermentation residues into high-quality compost. The company was looking for a composting process that would save as much energy as possible, deliver a good quality composted product and fulfil the requirements for the lowest possible emissions. The choice fell on our efficient UTV systems. Our Gore Cover laminate membrane cover enables us to compost around 4,000 tonnes of finished fermentation residue every year on our aerated windrows. This reduces the composting time from up to 3 months to approximately 4 weeks compared to conventional processes. Furthermore, the energy requirement is reduced by 7,500 kWh per annum, as the material no longer needs to be moved.
