Chiajna is a small town in Romania near Bucharest. In 2012, our first mechanical-biological waste pre-treatment plant in Romania was put into operation here to reduce the proportion of municipal waste going to landfill by up to 70%. Every year, 3,000 tonnes of residual waste are treated at this site.
