With the cold commissioning in December 2025, we have reached an important milestone in the Tafalla project. The plant in Navarra has undergone a full technical inspection and is ready for the next step.
As part of the commissioning process, all key components were tested, processes were fine-tuned, and the plant was gradually brought online. The goal was to lay the foundation for stable and smooth operation.
The warm-up phase will follow in May 2026. At that time, material will be introduced for the first time and the biological process will be initiated under real-world conditions.
This transition is particularly crucial, as it is here that all previously tested systems demonstrate their performance in interaction with the material.
On-site collaboration
The project is being developed in close coordination with the operator NILSA, which plays a central role in water and waste infrastructure in the Navarra region. The collaboration is characterized by clear processes and a shared focus on reliable implementation.
Step by step toward commissioning
With the completion of the cold commissioning, a significant part of the project implementation has been achieved. At the same time, it demonstrates how important structured processes and precise coordination are for safely bringing facilities of this kind into operation.
