The Chinese city of Luliang in Yunnan province has been using our mechanical-biological waste pre-treatment (MBT) process since 2014. The volume of municipal waste sent to landfill can be reduced by up to 70%. At the same time, a high calorific value fraction (RDF) of so-called substitute fuels and recyclable materials is obtained and a biologically stabilized material is produced through composting, which can be landfilled without any problems. Since commissioning, a large quantity of 30,000 tonnes of residual waste has been processed annually.
