Soil plant

Valuable resources from composting

Substrate manufacturers and soil plants use composting facilities to produce high-quality, sustainable substrates and soils that fulfil their customers' requirements while helping to reduce biowaste and promote environmentally friendly agriculture. The following raw materials, among others, can be used:

  1. Plant residues: Waste from agriculture, horticulture and landscaping such as crop residues, green cuttings, twigs and leaves.
  2. Stable manure and dung: Animal excrements and bedding from livestock farms such as cow manure, horse manure, poultry manure and pig manure.
  3. Food waste:  Biowaste from food processing plants, supermarkets, restaurants and households that is no longer suitable for human consumption.
  4. Wood and wood waste: Wood chips, sawdust, wood shavings and other wood-based materials can also be processed in composting plants.
  5. Green waste and garden waste: Lawn cuttings, leaves, branches, twigs, shrub cuttings and other organic materials that accumulate during garden maintenance.
  6. Agricultural residues: Waste from agricultural operations such as straw, hay, crop residues and other organic materials.

Composting these products in soil plants makes it possible to recycle biowaste and recover valuable resources in the form of high-quality compost. The compost produced can then be used as a soil conditioner in agriculture, horticulture and landscaping to increase soil fertility, promote plant growth and improve soil structure.

Advantages

  1. Improved soil fertility

Substrates containing compost help to improve soil fertility by providing valuable nutrients and organic substances that promote plant growth.

  2. Reduction of landfill volumes

The use of compost in substrates helps to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill by converting organic materials into valuable resources.

  3. Sustainable agricultural practices

The use of compost in substrates supports sustainable agricultural practices by reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and improving soil health.

  4. Versatile applications

Substrates made from compost can be used for various applications, including vegetable and ornamental plant cultivation, nursery production, landscaping, soil regeneration and much more.
